there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:

1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus
4) You look like Santa Claus.

What Your Coffee Says About You

Need some chitchat over a cup of coffee? Check out this cool list of coffee personalities. There isn't a shred of scientific backing and it might have a touch of flawed logic, but give it a try anyway and see if there is any accuracy of not.

 Picture via (thedoghousediaries)

*As for me, I'm an amalgamation of espresso, mocha, latte, americano, and frappuccino. But I'd love to know, which kind of coffee are you?

  • Spell it OUT: Write down your feelings to give focus to the problem
  • Grab a BITE to EAT: Hungry? Low blood Sugar? Grab some munchies and SMILE

Potatoes can teach you a lesson:

A kindergarten teacher decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates.

So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week.

Day after day passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags.

After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended. The teacher asked:  “How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?” The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.

Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said: “This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime???”

Moral of the story: Throw away any hatred for your brother from your heart. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take, forgive others like you would like yourself to be forgiven for your mistakes

Upon seeing the man cry , the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard , climbed onto his lap , and just sat there..

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor , the little boy said ,
'Nothing , I just helped him cry'

When there is nothing left but God , that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this.

Heavenly Father , please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace , prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You. Amen .

Then send it on to five other people , Within hours you caused a multitude of people to pray for other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life.

P. S. Five is good , but more is better..
God Bless you!!

5 Signs Your Resume Is Outdated

The workplace is not what it was five years ago. Neither is the job hunt.

The most successful candidates are those who are ready and willing to adapt to a changing landscape. But it doesn’t matter how ready you are for the modern workplace if your resumé’s straight out of 1994.

And sometimes, it’s the most minute details that make all the difference.

Does your resumé speak to the modern hiring manager? Or does it need a serious makeover?
Your resumé might be outdated if…

#1: You’ve forced it to fit onto one page

You’ve reduced your font size to eight, eliminated margins altogether and left out key information about yourself, all to conform to that age-old “one page resumé” rule. Big mistake. After all, would a recent college grad really need the same amount of resumé real estate as someone who’s been in the workforce for 20 years? Of course not. Don’t get me wrong: Your resumé should be concise. Recruiters are busy people – they don’t have time or the patience for long-winded career chronologies. But if your experience warrants two pages, by all means, don’t limit yourself to one.

#2: You list an objective

Of course you’re looking to gain more experience in the field/sector/type of company to which you’re applying. Your interest in the job implies that. Do you really need to say it at the very top of your resumé?

At this point in the selection process, hiring managers are far more interested in what you can do for them than what they can do for you.

If you want to explain why you’re applying for the job, say so in your cover letter. Resumé space is far too valuable to waste on information that is both redundant and inconsequential.

#4: You attach it to your email as a Word document

While you’re unlikely to be penalized for emailing a Word document, there’s a lot to be said for converting it to a PDF before sending.

A PDF document just looks neater. And even if you’ve gone crazy with the formatting, it will show up correctly on the hiring manager’s computer no matter what their settings, Word version, or font inventory. Besides, do you really want those squiggly red lines showing up under your former company’s name?

Stick to PDF. It’s the only surefire way to display your resumé exactly as you intended it.

#5: You list every job you’ve ever had in chronological order

In the olden days, the person with the most experience got the job.

Nowadays, the person who’s most talented, has the most relevant skill set, and has proven to be most valuable to his or her former employers gets the job.

If you want to be that person, make sure your resumé says so. Only list that jobs that are relevant to the one you're applying for, don't add up to the list just to fill up the save. Expand on the jobs that are relevant. Focus on measurable achievements in each role as opposed to a play-by-play of your daily responsibilities.

Top 10 Question Every Girl Must Ask

Start busting those thought bubbles by seeking the answers to these important life questions.

One of the realities of growing up is being concerned with the bigger picture. You begin to think about your goals and your relationships with other people on a larger scale. You have a lot of questions on your mind, but are you asking the right ones? Grab a pen and paper and answer the questions below to help you do some soul-searching.

1. What am I good at?

  • Insecurity comes from prioritizing other people's expectations of you rather than being confident in yourself. You may lose your individuality while struggling to please other people all the time.
  • BUST IT! Make a list of what you're good at and what you're not good at. Learn to develop your strengths and accept your weaknesses. On a scale of 1 to 10, you may be a 3 in sports, but a 10 in music. Worrying about your weaknesses might minimize your strengths, so focus on your 10s instead to maximize your potential.

2. Whose opinion matters?

  • Whenever you encounter a dilemma, who do you turn for advice? Friends may be good listeners, but have your thought of turning to Mom?
  • BUST IT! Develop a healthy, open relationship with your mom, your older sister, or an older relative. Think about it, they are once teenagers like you and might have gone through similar experiences. It's easy to underestimate older people's advice, but hear them out. Instead of seeing them as cops out to spoil the fun, develop a friendlier relationship with them.

3. What keeps me from doing something?

  • Scared of making mistakes or being criticized for your work? Fear will get you nowhere. A lot of unhappy people have let fear rule their lives and end up never realizing their full potential.
  • BUST IT! Courage is not the absence of fear, but action in the midst of fear. Remember a person is not a failure for doing so many things that did not work out. She only fails when she has stopped trying. Consider mistakes as lessons learned. Even the most sucessful people have failed on their way to sucess..

4. Why am I so stressed?

  • Schoolwork, soccer practice, long exams .... the list goes on. If you're too busy to take a step back, how can you pinpoint what's bothering you?
  • BUST IT! If your daily activities cause you stress, then take time to think about what you want to change. Are you still taking those piano lessons your mom insist even though your heart isn't in them? Do you need more "me" time and less gimmicks? Complaining will just waste your energy. Only change can relieve stress!

5. Who are my real friends?

  • Remembering the people who've been with you through thick and thin will not only give you and idea of who to call when you've got a problem, but will also prevent you from taking them for granted.
  • Bust It! Develop friendships with people who give you space to be yourself and room to make mistakes. Stick to those who accept you for who you are, yet encourage you to change for the better. Sorrounding yourself with people who believe in you will push you on the road to success.

6. What makes me happy?

  • Had a bad day? Don't dwell on negative aspects when times get rough! Dwelling on sadness can keep you from focusing on the good things in your life. And most of the time, the situation is not as bad as you think.
  • BUST IT! List down all the simple things that make you happy - hearing you favorite song on the radio, receiving encouraging texts from friends and family, or even a nice cold iced tea on a hot summer day. It's good to keep a list to remind you to be thankful for the good things you have - things you usually fail to appreciate. A grateful attitude makes a whole lot of difference.

7. Who inspires me?

  • Knowing what you want in life and having role models give you more purposes. You being to see things on a broader scale and learn to customize your choices according to your life goals.
  • BUST IT! Learn to choose your role models. Find inspiration in their sucesses and how they made it to the top. This way, it makes realizing your dreams easier to achieve. If other people have made it, can't you?

8. What do I need to change?

  • Who does'nt want to become better? If you find yourself frequently stressed or irritable, it means you need to change something.
  • BUST IT! Re-examine your habits. Do you get things done on time? What makes you impatient? Then start new habits to improve your disposition. It may takes a lot of time and effort, but it's better than being a humbug. Remember. Change can start from little things you do everyday.

9. What do I need to let go off?

  • Go through life without the excesses that weigh you down! More than material things that you need to take out of your closest once in a while, it is usually emotional baggage that you need to let go off to live a happy life.
  • BUST IT! Who needs emotional baggage? Learn to stop holding off grudges against people have offended you. If you want real change in your life, why npot be the first to reach out and forgive.

10. How can I can be confident?

  • Confidence is not a feeling you get. It may seem like other people have it easy being confident in the things they do, but everyone has his or her own share of insecurities and fears, no exceptions. It's simply a matter of how to deal with it.
  • BUST IT! Can't let go of fear? Then do it even though you're afraid! It doesn't matter if you're scared or uncertain of yourself. It may take awhile, but that's how you practice confidence! Each time you decided to take a step out of your shy zone and simply get things done is a step closer to a more confident you!

The Single Girl's Bible
"According Cosmpolitan January 2009"....

Have a Blast on New Year's Without a Date

  • Choose the right group to celebrate with. If you have friends who act really exclusive with their significant others (think tons of PDA), don't hang with them.
  • Plan you own-get together, whether it's cocktails at your place or mellow movie night where you and some pals forgo the requisite (and often overrated) festivities.
  • If you want to party hard, try to arrange to attend more than one bash. You'll be exited knowing you won't be stuck should one gathering turn out to be a dud for unattached chicks.
  • Decide ahead of time what you'll do when the ball drops and couple's start kissing. Call your best friend or sister who is celebrating elsewhere or uncork a bottle of champagne at the start of the countdown.
Convo Starters
  • Getting the cold shoulder isn't just saying. Being socially excluded can actually make people feel chilly, according to new research.
  • A study found that when puppies play, males often let the females win. The opportunity to play is more important to them than winning is, plus acting like a gentlemen may encourage females to choose them as a mate later.
Get a Heavy Bag Down From the Overhead Bin
  • Step 1: Grab the handle of the suitcase with your right hand, and pull it hallway out of the compartment so that it's balanced on the edge of the bin and tipped slightly toward you. At the same time, take s small step back and lean backward a bit. This ensures that your legs - rather than your back - are supporting the majority of the bag's weight.
  • Step 2: Slide you left hand under the bottom of the suitcase, and slowly lower it onto the closest aisle seat (wait for one to be vacated)
  • Step 3: Readjust your feet so they're hip-width apart and parallel to each other (to give you stability.) Bend your knees as you lift the bag and lower it to the ground.
How to Score a Great Table at a HotSpot
  • Tell the host it's a special occasion like a birthday.
  • If it's in your budget, preorder a nice bottle of wine - you'll look like a big spender
  • Dress up
Solo Ritual Stuart
  • Once a month on say a Friday afternoon or evening, stop by a local salon for a blow-out. You'll instantly feel more gorgeous, and it will set off the weekend on the right food...
The Pleasures of Sleeping Naked Alone?
  • It's a treat to be able to stretch out, so take advantage of the entire bed - savor the sensation of the soft pillow and smooth sheets... The physical acts of stripping off layers is mentally and emotionally freeing too. So concentrate on letting go of stress. It won't be long before you discover that the more solo time you spend in the buff, the more comfortable you feel in your own skin..
